The Chase Begins
The summer heat has started. Yesterday it was up around 30, and it’s going to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better. I know some of you would love to have temperatures like this now (hi Adam), but for a thick-blooded pale-skinned northerner like myself it’s just torture.
I was trying to find some way to use “torture” as a segue into a link to Toy Division, but it’s probably better that I don’t. Toy Division was once voted as the single most offensive comic on the internet. That’s a pretty big honor. It was also recently featured on a popular podcast. Needless to say, the comic itself is NSFW.
The thing I like about Toy Division is that while it’s always rude, obscene, disturbing, and wrong, it’s never dumb. You might even learn some things about history from it. There’s no shortage of cartoons out there which use shock value as a universal replacement for humor, intelligence, and wit- with South Park being perhaps the most commercially successful example- but this isn’t one of those. No, Toy Division is a clever, funny comic strip that just happens to feature oral sex and graphic disembowelments.
