Now We Are Even

Some bad news from the webcomicking world- Aaron Diaz, creator of Dresden Codak and all-round alternahunk, was injured in a bicycle crash. Even worse, his computer was injured- the computer containing all his art. I know that I’d much rather lose a foot than lose the precious data contained on my laptop. On the DC front page there’s a re-imagining of the incident by the prolific and talented Kate Beaton; certain aspects of the accident may have been exaggerated for dramatic purposes. I send my sincere condolences to Mr.Diaz and hope that he’s feeling better soon.

In order to end Friday on a slightly more cheerful point, here are some new trailers for the Watchmen movie and Fallout 3. Now that I think about it, though, that might not be more cheerful… What do you think, are these two highly anticipated projects going to live up to expectations? Is that even possible? Personally, I’m cautiously optimistic while at the same time keeping my expectations low.

I’ve probably told this story before, but I once worked with a coder who was knocked off his bike by a speeding police car. Apparently he would have broken his back if he wasn’t carrying his laptop in a rucksack. The laptop didn’t make it though.

…and I had to check this out, but the music used in the Watchmen trailer, ‘The end is the beginning is the end’ by the Smashing Pumpkins, it was originally used as the theme tune to one of the batman films.

    Just a bit of trivia.

Fallout 3 should live up to Fallout’s legacy if they can make the world as good as the action, and Bethesda usually doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the worlds they make.
