Things are beginning to sort themselves out over here. Time passes strangely when you have an infant in the house- I was surprised when I logged in here and saw how long Ataraxia Theatre has been on hiatus. Of course I should have known that it’s been ages just based on how big Sean has gotten. Look at this- he’s nearly as big as me, now.

Don’t worry, he’ll be asking for the car keys any day now ;)

Aw! And I’m so used to babies who look like Eisenhower. Yours is actually cute.
I’ve been reading Being & Nothingness. It’s not an easy read. At one point in the Origin of Negation, he brings up that a person must be able to entertain the possibility of a no, of a negative response. For example, whereas he expected to find 1500 francs in his wallet, and found 1300, he specifically found *only* 1300. It wouldn’t have been an only if he hadn’t been expecting more.
It seems like your hero Pyrrho sought to eliminate that negative possibility in favor of suspension of judgment. Sound about right?

That’s about right, I think. Presumably he’d use that as an argument for why we shouldn’t have preconceptions at all.

Sounds like a difficult state of mind to achieve. I’ll stick with Sartre; much more contemporary. :)
