Harder Than She Looks

Way back in the old days, I approached the makers of Legions of Steel about doing a LOS story in Ataraxia Theatre. I gave the script to Marco Pecota and he seemed to like it, except for one bit in the opening scene where there were some aliens who weren’t featured in the board game. “If you use them in the comic”, he told me, “pretty soon we’ll have people bugging us to put them in the game”. He was right, of course. Why do I mention this now? Because after today’s strip I’m going to get lots of people bugging me to include cargoloaders in GearHead.

Nothing ever came of the Legions of Steel comic, unfortunately. Soon afterward I moved to Korea and Global Games closed shop. It’s a shame too because it would have been glorious. Earth dogs die hard!

Yesterday we went to the swimming pool with Sean. He was very excited, but also very nervous. He spent most of his time clutching tightly to my neck with one arm and splashing wildly with the other. Getting showered and changed with a baby in tow was a challenge- especially when he decided to pee all over me and everything else. Still, it was a lot of fun.

Looks like I’m going to be a father in March, in the context of a loving and supportive marriage. I’m scared.
I suppose, if you really feel forced to throw cargoloaders in, it may take the form of another SL 1 cheapo, not so much a cargoloader as a vehicle modified and derived from a cargoloader. Still, I’m not the one pressing for it.
