Thanks

Thanks to Mark for letting me join the 21st century. Now all I need is a jetpack.

This week my students are doing a stop motion of “Red Riding Hood”. Today we filmed the scene where Red runs away from the wolf, dials “911″ on her cell phone, and Gundam arrivesĀ  to slice the wolf in half. We’ve taken a few liberties with the story but I think it works.

I’m fairly pleased with my method for getting a class of 30 students to work together on a stop motion project. The students are divided into teams. When it’s a team’s turn, they make a line, do a single completed action (grandma walks to here, wolf opens door, etc), and then go back to their seats. While waiting the other teams are busy making materials for tomorrow’s shoot: characters, scenery, you name it. Everybody is kept busy, everybody gets a turn, and the results so far have been great.

We won’t be able to record voices until after the exams, unfortunately. I’ll see about posting the video to YouTube after it’s completed.
