What Solnal Is Really Like

Sorry for the unannounced interruption. We went to Ulsan for the Lunar New Year, and I didn’t have a chance to finish the page to my satisfaction before we left. For those wondering what an authentic Korean Solnal celebration is like, this is it- spend the morning bowing, spend the rest of the day watching Jjang-Gu with the young’uns. Spend every waking moment cramming your face full of food.

Ben- Root beer used to be made of sassafras; these days it’s usually made with wintergreen plus some other flavors. I haven’t forgotten about part 2 of “The Death of Koschei the Deathless”, but am still waiting on a quiet room and 20 minutes.

Mark- I ordered a bottle of root beer flavoring from a brewing supply company called hoptech. At first I tried making the root beer with yeast, but these days I just add the flavor and sugar to a bottle of carbonated water.
