Last Human Alive Page Sixteen
So I’ve been watching Mobile Suit Gundam during my lunch breaks. Up to this point, Char has been a pretty cool antagonist. He personally tracked the White Base all the way from Side 7 to Earth. He’s the only pilot to survive more than one encounter with the Gundam. He’s got some kind of Machiavellian master plan going on. In short, he is awesome.
Then, in Episode 12, Ramba Ral appears. With just two Zaku-IIs and a Gouf he manages to totally dominate the Gundam, Guncannon, and Guntank combined. By the time he’s forced to withdraw, all his mecha are still operational. I think this is only the second time in the series that a Zaku pilot has survived fighting the Gundam… Char may be an ace pilot himself, but it’s his lancemates who ought to be wearing the red shirts.
It reminds me of this skit by The Vestibules, with Char as Scooby and Ramba as Scrappy Doo.
